Words Spoken

Here is the difficult piece that I have held back. It is intended as the first in a series.

It is hand-stitching on linen, 42 x 14", stretched over a wooden frame. A detail to give you a better sense of the texture.

I will let this stand on its own for a day or two, and then post something more about the work.

  1. Oh, I know why this is so difficult. Jeremy’s words and I assume his handwriting. Stitching them emphasizes how much a loved one’s words can be marked in us for all time. Maybe taking them into your own hands, so to speak, will help with healing.

The stitching is exquisite, so cleanly done it looks like actual writing. The starkness of the words alone on the cloth makes me feel their import. I look forward to seeing the rest of the series.
